There are a series of storms rolling through Southern California this week, and already there are have been deaths. One of these deaths happens to be an acquaintance of mine. I say acquaintance because we'd only met a few times, but we had a lot of the same interests, and actually hit it off quite well. A 100ft tree fell on his house and he died, he was 21. To make matters worse, he was a fire fighter, and his station was the first on scene. So all his pals got to see their colleague, well you get the idea.
These things happen, obviously. Guess it's all part of the plan.
Fuck.

Not sure how appropriate it is to say this for an acquaintance but my condolences none the less.
Remember though, that just because we sometimes can't understand "the plan" doesn't mean there isn't one or that it's evil. My mother wouldn't let me eat cake three meals a day when I was little and incapable of understanding such things. Doesn't mean there wasn't a good reason just because I couldn't grasp it.
On the flip side, knowing there is a plan, and trusting that it is not evil does NOT lessen the tragedy or grief experienced.
Thanks, man. Any plan that involves needlessly killing people by dropping giant oak trees on their houses is a dumb plan... from my scope of understanding anyway.
